Hello and Welcome!

Hello and welcome to our first ever blog post!

When we first started our website we had always envisioned creating a blog. After getting the website up and running we are now able to focus our energy on starting up our blog. Techdren is a student-driven project with support from our two crazy amazing professors, Dr. Gary Scudder and Professor Stephen Wehmeyer. Now, before we get too ahead of ourselves in pure excitement for our first ever blog post, we should probably introduce ourselves and what our role is in Techdren.

Abigail Barr

My name is Abigail Barr. I am a senior studying Computer & Digital Forensics and Computer Networking & Cybersecurity. In addition to being a student at Champlain College, I work as a Community Advisor (Resident Assistant) and assist a company with securing their network.

With Techdren, I am responsible for everything technical. My responsibilities include testing the solar panels, setting up the laptops/tablets with the appropriate operating system and software, and ensuring that all electronic devices will live long lives free from humidity. Officially, my title is Chief Technical Officer.

Anna Matich

Hello everyone, I’m Anna Matich! I’m a Computer Science and Digital Forensics student at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. On-campus I work as a Peer Career Coach, mentor first-year students through the college’s Women’s and Gender Center, help run the Women in Technology Club as Co-President, and am involved as an active member in a handful of other clubs. Off-campus, I volunteer to walk dogs and work for Techdren.

In Techdren my current position is the Chief Operations Officer, which means I handle most of the business details of the company. This can range from larger things like officially making us a nonprofit organization and filing for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS to smaller details like designing flyers and giving presentations.

Jacqueline Noborikawa

Hello! My name is Jacqueline Noborikawa and I will be a third-year Data Analytics student. I am from Kaneohe, Hawaii (and no, I do not survive winters in Vermont). Aside from Techdren, I am also a Financial Peer Coach, Student Ambassador, Treasurer for the Shades of Me Club, and Vice President for the Women in Technology Club.

In Techdren, I am the Chief Communications Officer. I handle all communication between the four of us and anyone else. I make sure the website is up-to-date, emails coming in are answered, and we are prepared for our weekly meetings. Google Calendar is my best friend and without it, I would be completely lost.

Ashley Bladen

Hi! My name is Ashley Bladen, I am a junior Computer Science & Innovation major with a minor in Mathematics. On-campus, I work at the S.M.A.R.T Space as a Math Tutor and a Champ Guide.

I am the most recent member of Techdren and recently took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer in August of 2018. Within Techdren, I come up with fundraising ideas and new ideas to get our name out there. I recently facilitated the change to our donation platform to a platform that fits our needs better.

Thank you,

Techdren
